THE RESTAURANT

A savory experience that infuses surf, art, culture, and community. Pop’s Garage is a staple of the Marilyn Group Mission.

Pop’s Garage is a sustainable Mexican eatery formally on the Asbury Park Boardwalk. We bring the laid-back cuisine and culture of Sayulita, Mexico to New Jersey restaurant-goers. Try our flavorful over-stuffed burritos, homemade tacos, Pop's Cuban Corn.

When Scott was a young boy, his dad would take him to a local Normandy Beach surf shop in a little, old garage. The owner (Pop) was quite a character and made a lasting impression so when Marilyn and Scott opened their original location in Normandy Beach, the name Pop’s Garage was a perfect fit. The couple bought a 1963 Airstream camper that they had set up as an art gallery for this location and a perfect marriage of travel, art and delicious food was born! Now located right on the boardwalk in Asbury Park, Marilyn, Scott and their twins continue to bring back ideas for traditional, clean Mexican fare from their travels to surf locales all over the Caribbean, Central America and Mexico. At Pop’s we aim to combine their taco travels with a fun and kitschy vibe. Come hang with us and chill!
